Hey Hey,
So, I'm rather impresed with RescueData, sure this is old news but I didn't know it. They've actually made a version of IDA Pro freely available. This was an attempt to stop the pirating of the new releases of their product, however apparently the bandwidth draw was too much for them. I've recently installed the freeware version and I am most impressed with it, so I'd like to make it available to you. This is completely legal, as stated on the RescueData Site

One of our hopes in distributing this freeware version had been that it would diminish the number "pirate" contacts. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. That is why, after having delivered hundreds of thousands of copies of IDA Freeware, we have decided not to host this file anymore. Note that the IDA Pro freeware license doesn't change : the freeware version remains freeware, and anyone willing to host it is welcome to do so.

So I have attached the software to this page for all those interested. At present this site is hosted with one of my smaller hosting accounts, I only have 500MB of storage and 5000MB of monthly transfer allocated. I will attempt to move to a larger capacity host, should that be require and if that happens... I will definately be putting up a paypal donate banner.
Anyways... enjoy IDA Pro Freeware! download

Hey Hey,
The Mozilla Firefox 1.5 QueryInterface() Remote Code Execution vulnerability has now had a written exploit released. The exploit is in beta and apparently has it's problems, however it is out there... This is a great time for all the FireFox users out there to download and install 1.5.0.1 (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/). I'm debating whether to attach the module to this post, or leave it up to you to find it on your own... I'll debate that for a bit before deciding.

Hey Hey,
This was just posted on AntiOnline.com and it's a site that I've come across in the past as it has some very useful information, so I've decided to add it here just to build up the content of the site. The page is available @ http://securitywizardry.com/index.htm
The page promotes itself as being 'vendor agnostic' and 'fully independant', which is quite true and it boasts some very interesting pages.
One of the more interesting pages is @ http://securitywizardry.com/radar.htm and has been made famous recently due to a image that is circulating of President Bush visiting the NSA, in which this display is seen in the background. If you've got a spare monitor (or projector), this isn't the worst page that you could display on it, it would make a nice HUD to keep you in the loop.
Another feature of the site that I like is it's Raw Packet page @ http://securitywizardry.com/protpackets.htm. You can view the format of every major packet type, as well as associated message (in the case of ICMP) and a few other cool things. Definately handy if you are disecting packets, or playing with an IDS setup.
Consider this another link to keep on hand. It's definately worth monitoring.
Peace,
HT
Hey Hey,
I've finally decided what to do with this site and that's turn it into a community blog. I know, blogs are everywhere, my goal is to draw on the experienced members of forums I visit, current and former co-workers, friends and anyone else who is interested. I welcome everyone to register and comment, and those interested to contact me to contribute, edit, or admin this. While it will remain a blog, a forum may grow from it, or this may take on the look of a forum, it's hard to say... In the mean time enjoy and learn.
Peace,
HT
