Online Malware/Security Scanners

February 4th, 2007 Leave a comment Go to comments

There's a great list of online Malware and Security scanners available from the Grand Stream Dreams blog (HatTip: Sunbelt Blog).

One thing that I noticed is that while it has the Norman Sandbox Information Center.. it doesn't contain links (unless I missed them) to CWSandbox.org (which requires verification to upload a file (entering a 4-digit number from an image)) and the Sunbelt Sandbox at Sunbelt Software Research. Now my assumption is that they're all powered by the same engine... but still.. no harm in having all the links available in case one is down for an unknown reason.

Thanks HTRegz for the link mention.

I wasn’t aware of the CWSandbox.org or Sunbelt Sandbox scanners. I’m curious as well if they are using the same system….although at this time, the Sunbelt Software Research link is off-line.

I’ve updated my post to reflect these as well!

    –Cheers!

First of all, let me register the fact that I am a Norman employee.

I can without doubt say that the analysis engine used as part of the Norman SandBox solutions is not the same as Sunbelt’s or CWSandbox.org.

I think you will find that the CW and Sunvelt solutions are the same however, as is indicated on the licensing page of cwsandbox.org
