Top 10 Computer/Network Movies
It turns out that Network World published a list last week of the Top 10 Network (or Computer) Movies... Mitchell Ashley had some issues with this list and decided to create his own.
Since I have issues with both of these lists I've decided to create my own which contains movies from both of them, as well as a few of my own. There are really in no specific order
- WarGames (alright... there's a little order... this is #1)
- Pirates of Silicon Valley
- Antitrust
- Takedown
- Freedom Downtime
- Tron
- The Matrix Reloaded (Simply for the use of nmap)
- Firewall
- Hackers (This is a classic)
- Office Space (Because somedays we all feel like we work at Initech)
So that's it... I moved more to the computer side in some cases but I figure that's acceptable..

LOL! You have no idea how many times I’ve wanted to post my own list of movies on my blog but then deleted the post.
I like your list a lot more than the other two you mention. And anyone who does not include Hackers on their list is either in denial or is taking a personal stand for bad reasons. While the dramatizations might be over-the-top, the movie hits way too many accurate notes for the hacking scene of 1996, and both prior and after.
Other considerations:
Sneakers (very classy movie)
Swordfish (ok, the password hack is lame, but graphics dramatizations aside, the scene of him coding and the reactions/inspirations/movements are rather accurate)
The Matrix (Ok, this is pushing it, but it does appeal greatly to the hacker mindset)
I forgot to recommend the movie Pulse for a nice change of pace. It is a bit techie and digital, although not technically dealing too much with security.
